coccole sonore

Dr. Elisa Benassi
Vice-President Italian Prenatal Education Association

«Kiddie Cuddles, a series of musical compositions especially devised for the expectant mother and for the infant’s earliest years proves to be an interesting adventure in sound to be undertaken in order to discover certain aspects of parenthood; serenity, listening ability, the importance of play, the return to childhood and stimulation of the child’s senses through the use of unfamiliar sounds.
The music is reassuring and should be listened to in the prenatal period to experience states of calmness and to provide time to think about the child.
I find the musical compositions for the first months of the infant’s life very significant, original and great fun. The musical material is very varied and can be used in different ways: calm pieces for «cuddling» the child to sleep, more rhythmic pieces and ones richer in sounds for sensorial stimulation to arouse the infant’s curiosity with an invitation to distinguish, memorize, recognise and later to name certain aspects of the real world which come to us in the form of sound.
The entire collection represents an important contribution to research into the most efficient and pleasant means of communication on which to build the father-mother-child relationship.»

Dr. Francesca Pasini
Italian Association of Professional Music Therapists

«The uterine environment, due to its sound-based nature, provides the foetus with sensory, temporal and dynamic references that constantly reproduce themselves. In such a stable environment every slight variation in background noise transmits a message which the foetus responds to, affecting its behaviour: sound, rhythm, movement therefore all represent language. The prenatal application of music aids mother-child communication, promoting not only an affective relationship but also balanced and serene communication while expanding the unborn infant’s perceptive universe. This first experience of sound will be the linking element between the infant’s life in the womb and the outside world..
